Description

AERO is the world's leading trade show for General Aviation

What was launched over 40 years ago with a handful of gliders and motor gliders as a small aviation exhibition in the context of a regional automobile exhibition has developed into one of the world's most important industry meetings with a impressive line-up of all kind of aircraft types.

Numerous exhibitors have remained loyal to AERO from the very beginning, while many new ones have joined over the years and have contributed significantly to the successful development of AERO Friedrichshafen.

AERO has also benefited from Friedrichshafen as an aviation location, which was established in 1900 by Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin, as well as from the booming UL industry. In 1995, the Business Aviation section was introduced at AERO for the first time. In addition, the trade show significantly expanded its offerings in the areas of avionics, maintenance and aviation services in the following years.

The move to the new exhibition halls at the airport followed in 2002. AERO is one of the few trade fairs to have its own taxiway to the exhibition center. The focus of the trade show on active people in aviation and future topics has always driven the growth of AERO and made it the world's leading trade show for innovations in General Aviation that it is today.

Since 2022, AERO is organized by fairnamic GmbH, a joint venture between Messe Frankfurt and Messe Friedrichshafen.

Location: Warsaw, Poland

The 12th IFAR Summit 2021 was hosted by the Lukasiewicz Institute of Aviation (ILOT), Warsaw, which is celebrating its 95th anniversary this year and was to take place from 18th to 21st October 2021. The chosen summit theme was Sustainable Aviation.

Located inside a high-tech NASA laboratory in Cleveland is something you could almost miss at first glance: a small-scale, fully operational jet engine to test new technology that could make aviation more sustainable.  The engine’s smaller size and modestly equipped test stand means researchers and engineers can try out newly designed engine components less expensively […]
NASA and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have established a research transition team to guide the development of wildland fire technology.  Wildland fires are occurring more frequently and at a larger scale than in past decades, according to the U.S. Forest Service. Emergency responders will need a broader set of technologies to prevent, monitor, and […]
Riding in the back seat of a car can be boring. Riding in the back of a NASA aircraft is exhilarating, especially for photographers capturing NASA’s story. Jim Ross, photo lead at NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center in Edwards, California, was awarded first place for an image he took while flying upside down in a […]
